• Brief History & Mission

    • After 25 years in the field of international curating & academia, this is my way of giving back to my tribe or clay-loving artists.
    • Ceramics Residency is a platform for excellence & innovation in contemporary art.
    • Our guiding values are solidarity & well-being.
    • It's my chance to share the wisdom & support I have received from artists, curators, academics & gallerists who have nurtured & mentored me along this incredible journey from my homeland, South Africa.
    • I gratefully acknowledge inspirational colleagues & mentors from places where I have lived & worked - Australia, Belgium, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel-Palestine, Italy, Japan, Korea, Monaco, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the USA, & the United Kingdom.
    • Our residencies are transformational havens of well-being, empathy, creativity, trust & professional advancement.

    • Inclusive, socially-engaged, humanitarian values are the intellectual cornerstone of all my academic & curatorial projects.
    • The Central China Biennale & other international curatorial projects led to my critical reflection on well-being & empathy in contemporary art, research & curatorial practice.
    • These questions subsequently became the focus of my Doctoral thesis, & the bedrock of   Ceramics Residency, which focuses on artistic excellence & well-being.
